Why should I train at Megalodon Gym?
Megalodon Gym offers two of the most experienced coaches in Georgia, Casey Baynes and Arjan Scott Hicks. Megalodon Gym’s BJJ instructor Casey Baynes is the most senior BJJ black belt in the Athens area and earned his title under the world famous Alliance coach Romero “Jacare” Cavalcanti. He is without doubt the most experienced BJJ coach around. In addition, Megalodon Gym offers the only authentic Muay Thai training in Athens the area taught by Arjan Scott Hicks. Scott has over 30 years experience in training and competing in Muay Thai including numerous stays in Thailand where he further honed his Muay Thai skills. Scott has trained numerous champion fighters and is known for his superb training and technical fighting style.
Combined these two fighting styles are known as the most effective form of Mixed Martial Arts available. At Megalodon Gym you will receive superior coaching in both. Our coaches are available to everyone, not just our pros. So, why go anywhere else?
Can I try out some training before I start?
Yes, come by anytime and try out a training session for free. After your one free class, you are welcome to come back at $25 mat fee per class if you are not signed up on one of our contracts.
If I do not want to fight can I still train?
Yes, we have both fighters and non-fighters training at the gym. Everyone is welcome. Just be prepared to work hard! Martial arts is the upcoming fitness trend for both men and women!
Do you train fighters?
Of course. We have regular competitions scheduled for all of our fighters and grapplers amateur and pro alike. Our fighters have fought around the southeast and world. We also compete in BJJ competitions such as NAGA, Pan Ams, and more.
How long before I can fight?
It all depends on you. How much experience do you have, how fast you develop as a fighter, and when the instructors feel you are ready to compete.

We train both Gi and no Gi. Most of our BJJ classes are geared toward using a Gi, however, we do train no Gi for MMA and BJJ competitions.
